How does the WPS salary file work?
Run payroll, then download the salary file in the MOHRE SIF format and submit it through your bank or exchange house. Each worker's details and amounts are filled in from your records — no re-typing.
We're in a free zone — does this apply to us?
The salary file follows the mainland MOHRE format; free-zone wage submissions go through your free-zone authority. Everything else — payroll, gratuity, VAT, attendance — works the same.
When do we have to register for VAT?
Registration is mandatory once taxable supplies pass AED 375,000 over twelve months, and voluntary from AED 187,500. Until you enter a TRN, Bizlight keeps VAT switched off — no accidental tax lines.
How is end-of-service gratuity calculated?
21 days' basic pay per year of service for the first five years, 30 days a year after that — per Federal Decree-Law 33/2021. It accrues month by month and is settled automatically when someone leaves.
What about GPSSA and ILOE?
UAE-national staff get GPSSA pension contributions calculated under Law 57/2023, or Law 7/1999 for earlier joiners. ILOE unemployment insurance is tracked per worker, with an optional payslip deduction.
